The Premier League title race is heating up, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. Liverpool, under the guidance of Arne Slot, are setting the pace, leading the table and dazzling fans with their dominant performances. However, not everyone is convinced that they will go all the way.

Enter Gary Neville. The former Manchester United star and pundit has stirred the pot once again with his bold prediction.

Speaking on It’s Called Soccer, Neville said he believes Arsenal, not Liverpool, will be lifting the trophy come May.

This comes despite the fact that Liverpool are flying high and could extend their lead at the top if they win their game in hand.

“There’s no doubt they’re the best team at this moment in time, but it feels to me like they will hit a patch and Arsenal haven’t hit their form yet. I feel like there’s a twist in this.” Neville said.

According to Neville, Arsenal’s best is yet to come, and when they hit top form, they could storm past Liverpool in the standings. While Liverpool look like the team to beat right now, Neville predicts a twist in the tale.

Why Arsenal can still win the Premier League title race

Neville points out that Arsenal’s fixture list offers a great opportunity for the Gunners to close the gap.

Upcoming games against Crystal Palace, Brentford, and Brighton look winnable, while clashes with Tottenham and Manchester City will test their title credentials.

Neville thinks Arsenal will thrive in these matches, especially during the crucial Christmas and New Year period.

“Because you do turn your form at some point when you’re a team like that and Arsenal’s form will turn if they can get within a few points and if they go on a run I think they’ll win it, that’s my honest view,” said the former Man Utd star.

But Liverpool’s schedule is just as favorable. Matches against Leicester, West Ham, and Nottingham Forest provide a chance for the Reds to solidify their position.

Even tougher games, like their encounter with Manchester United, seem less daunting given Liverpool’s current form.

For Arsenal, consistency is key. Dropping points in unexpected games, as they have done this season, will only widen the gap. Their North London rivalry clash with Spurs and an away trip to Aston Villa could be potential stumbling blocks.

For now, Liverpool are in the driver’s seat. But if Neville’s gut feeling proves right, this title race might have an unexpected ending.
