Speculation about what Aaron Rodgers’ next career move would be has been one of the NFL’s hottest offseason topics. Since being released by the New York Jets back in March, Rodgers hasn’t made any formal declaration about his future. However, the four-time NFL MVP has been widely linked to the Pittsburgh Steelers — and for good reason.

Shortly after his release, Rodgers was spotted at the Steelers’ facility in Pittsburgh, fueling rumors of a potential union. At the time, there were no official confirmations — just grainy photos and fan theories. That all changed on Thursday.

Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers confirmed that yes, the viral photo of a man driving a Chevy Malibu outside the Steelers’ headquarters in March was, in fact, him.

“Hey, there it is. That was me,” Rodgers said as the photo was shown on-air. “That was the exact picture that I saw.”

The photo in question was originally shared by multimedia journalist Ed Thompson, who had staked out the area outside Pittsburgh’s facility in hopes of catching a glimpse of Rodgers.

“OK #SteelersNation, it’s time to play ‘You Be The Judge,’” Thompson posted on X (formerly Twitter) back in March. “While waiting, I caught a vehicle coming from the dead end portion of South Water Street with out-of-town plates thinking it may be the possible Steelers future QB. I can’t make up my mind. What do you think?”

Turns out, his instincts were spot on.

Rodgers admitted he went to great lengths to keep the visit quiet.

“Obviously went out to Pittsburgh. Tried to do that as quietly as possible,” Rodgers said. “A lot of people think I’m desperate for attention. I flew into a different airport. I got a Malibu rental car, drove the Malibu rental car to the facility, back side practice field.”

While many hoped Rodgers would reveal his next step, he did no such thing — instead, he kept his plans close to the vest.

“I just laid out where I’m at and there’s nothing else to report,” Rodgers said. “There’s no other reason to continue talking about me to this point. So, it’s time to turn the page…”
