The Denver Broncos have risen from the depths of the AFC. Just a couple of short years ago, the team was seen as one of the worst not only in the AFC but in the entire league.

Sean Payton has begun to put his stamp on the team and after hitting on a quarterback in last year’s draft, the team made the playoffs for the first time since 2015. Now, the team has its sights set on getting back to the top of the mountain.

Following the 2025 NFL Draft, Jordan Dajani of CBS Sports ranked every team in the AFC and his thoughts will be highly encouraging to Broncos Country. He has the Broncos at the No. 4 spot, ranking only the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens above them. Those three teams have been the primary contenders in the AFC for several years running, meaning, at least in the eyes of Dajani, the Broncos are knocking on the door.

“I’m high on the Broncos entering this season. Bo Nix had a fantastic rookie year, and now he has RJ Harvey and Evan Engram to work with. Could Denver have done more offensively? Sure, but this defense may be incredible. Talanoa Hufanga, Dre Greenlaw and Jahdae Barron were great pickups, and this unit was incredibly aggressive last year, ranking top five in sacks (63), pressure percentage (40%) and blitz percentage (37%). Plenty of reason to be excited about Denver moving forward”, wrote Dajani.

The Broncos lost to the Bills in the Wild Card round of the playoffs last season and though it was a tough, abrupt ending to the season, the team gained valuable experience that can be applied to the future. That future starts now. The Broncos are going to be a force going forward and those covering the league are beginning to take notice.
