Rangers are expected to appoint an interim head coach in the coming days following the sacking of Philippe Clement after the 2-0 weekend defeat to St. Mirren.

As per reports from the Daily Record, former captain Barry Ferguson is the No.1 candidate to step in until the end of the season, and potentially push on in Europe in the coming weeks.
Ferguson won five league titles as a player at Rangers, including two as captain, and led Walter Smith’s team to the UEFA Cup final in 2008.
The 47-year-old’s CV includes three spells managing in the Scottish lower leagues most recently up until leaving Allow Athletic in February 2022.
