The 2024/25 Premier League season could see a long-running record broken.
Manchester City edged out rivals Arsenal for the second successive season, at the end of 2023/24, as Pep Guardiola’s team clinched a record-breaking fourth successive EPL title.
However, that might not be the only point of frustration for Gunners fans in the coming months, as City chase down a 20-year record held by the North London giants.
Arsene Wenger’s ‘Invincibles’ remain as the benchmark for Premier League consistency, based on their infamous unbeaten record, but City are closing in.
Premier League’s longest unbeaten run record
Arsenal fans are still the proud holder of the longest unbeaten run in Premier League history with 49 top-flight games unbeaten from May 2002 to October 2004.

That run controversially came to with a 2-0 loss against Manchester United, via goals from Ruud van Nistelrooy and Wayne Rooney, which triggered the infamous ‘Battle of the Buffet’ at Old Trafford.
That record has remained untouched since 2004, with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool coming closest, as their unbeaten run was ended at 44 in February 2020.
City are currently riding the wave of a club record, in Premier League games unbeaten, at 32, which places them fourth on the all-time list.
