The day after the Spurs’ Game 5 victory, Wembanyama was asked about his reaction to fans’ criticism of his tears. 

“That’s a tough question. I think it’s first and foremost a fear of judgment,” he told L’Équipe reporter Maxime Aubin. “Like this feeling that you have to act a certain way, social codes, I guess. Personally, I refuse to carry the burden of having to hide my emotions.”

San Antonio’s 4-1 series win over Portland marks the first playoff experience for Wembanyama at the NBA level in his three seasons with the Spurs.

During his Rookie of the Year campaign, Wembanyama struggled to lift the team to greater heights, with the Spurs finishing 22-60, just one game above last place in the Western Conference. 

The next year, Wembanyama struggled with blood clots, causing him to only play 46 games during the season. This injury put into question Wembanyama’s durability, but the 2025-26 season put those questions to rest, with the French center winning Defensive Player of the Year after his third consecutive season leading the league in blocks.

It’s undeniable that Wembanyama has lifted San Antonio to this sort of playoff success. The team had not reached the Conference Semi-Finals since 2017. After a dismal season that saw the Spurs pick up the No. 1 pick, Wembanyama has turned them into a championship contender in just three seasons. 

The next matchup for Wembanyama and the Spurs will be with the winner of the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Locke outlines emotional NFL Free Agency journey to Cowboys

Miracles are rare but they do happen to people who know how to maximize new opportunities. Locke plans to do just that with the Cowboys. See, he was still playing for the Broncos in 2024 despite experiencing a very excruciating pain in his back. Eventually, it became know that he needed spinal fusion surgery which often means that some athletes will likely not return to their normal self.

In a stroke of luck from the heavens and the magic of modern medicine, Locke was able to recover in time to play for the Broncos in 2025. His numbers were not the best. He only had 12 combined tackles with seven of them being solo takedowns. Aside from that, his value dipped tremendously. Parker was then hired as the new defensive coordinator for the Cowboys and one of the first calls he made was to Locke.

He signed a $4 million deal with Jones and the Cowboys for a year. Locke immediately expressed how grateful he is to Parker after officially getting signed, via Joseph Hoyt of the Dallas Morning News.

“Everything seemed to click. I was losing strength in my legs. Ultimately, it kind of affected my confidence. It was a miracle. ‘Man, if I ever become a free agent, the time you become a DC, we’re going to make this thing happen.’ Man, it’s so crazy how he becomes the DC with the Cowboys,” he said about Parker’s emotional promise. “I prayed about it and I feel like God opened me up to taking an opportunity to become a Cowboy. I’m just blessed to be here at the end of the day.”

These two have a very special bond. It means that Cowboys fans will see Parker push himself to limits that were once thought of to be past him after getting injured in the spine. With new pieces from NFL free agency and a schematic mastermind alongside emotional investment, the Jones-led Cowboys have a special defensive unit who will be capable to win it all.

Clearly, it’s a game that has a ton of meaning for the kid from Akron, Ohio.

And if he is truly contemplating retirement, he could know there won’t be many moments like that one left back in Cleveland.

He did his best to soak it all in.

“I think it comes from just being present,” James said of his tears following the game. “I was more present today than the previous seven,” James said. “Definitely got to me a little bit. For sure. I was super thankful.

“I’m in a battle with Father Time and I’m kind of taking it personal.”

LeBron struggled when the game was going, though.

He finished with just 11 points on 3-for-10 shooting from the field, including 0-for-3 from 3, although he did go 5-of-6 at the line.

James grabbed three rebounds and dished out five assists while nabbing a steal.

The big issue: six turnovers.

James tied for a game-worst minus-23 in plus-minus, which equaled Luka Doncic for the worst margin on the floor versus off it.

The Cavs won, 129-99.

It was such a blowout that Bronny James, LeBron’s son, got eight minutes at the end, and at least he made it a bit better by getting a dunk and hitting both of his 3-point attempts for eight points.

But when LeBron looks back on this one, it’ll be an odd night with its ups and downs for sure.

As the Broncos (4-2) battle the Giants (2-4) in a Week 7 game, there will be a special halftime ceremony. Part of that ceremony will honor the Broncos’ Super Bowl 50 team nearly 10 years after Peyton Manning played his final game and the team hoisted the Lombardi Trophy. 

But in addition to that, the team will also induct former wide receiver Demaryius Thomas into the team’s Ring of Fame, posthumously. 

It will be a tremendous honor for Thomas and one that is beyond deserved. Not only was he one of the best players in team history, but he was also one of the most beloved. When people pass from this life, we often hear good things said in their memory, but it is likely you have never heard a negative word spoken about No. 88, nor will you. 

Current Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton, who spent his rookie season with D.T. and has always looked back fondly on their relationship, shared some thoughts this week.

Excellently spoken. 

We all know that Thomas had a fantastic career in Denver; his stats prove that. He had 665 catches for 9,055 yards and 60 touchdowns. That is the third-most receptions in team history and his numbers for yardage and touchdown catches rank second. He also made the Pro Bowl five times while helping the Broncos reach two Super Bowls, winning one.

His parents will be in attendance on Sunday to help share in the honor.

Many feel that D.T. put up Hall of Fame numbers, but he may never get there, especially if Rod Smith gets next to no recognition. So, this might be the final time Broncos fans get to look back on one of their own, one of the greats. It will be sure to be an emotional scene. 

Thomas was much more than just a fantastic wide receiver. He was loved by his teammates. He was loved by the media that covered and continues to cover the team. He was adored by his community, which he was always active in. He was always doing whatever he could to help those less fortunate. Many examples of that are described here in this fantastic piece by Luca Evans of The Denver Post. 

It will be a time for remembrance. It will be a time to honor one of the very best players, but more importantly, one of the very best human beings. If you ever had the chance to meet him, you can attest to that.

Antony reveals the real story after Man Utd exit

Speaking at his unveiling in Spain, Antony could not hide his feelings. “Only my family knows how difficult it was to be there,” he admitted.

“Training separately… but I knew this incredible moment was coming. Of course, I was afraid it wouldn’t happen in the end, but I waited because I had so much faith.”

He also reflected on his struggles in Manchester, saying: “What happened in Manchester, only I know how difficult it was. I’m sorry. Training separately, but that’s part of life. I knew this moment would come. It’s in the past.”

The winger described his relief when the deal finally went through, adding that he had told his family: “It was Betis or Betis, there was no other option.”

United included a 50% sell-on clause in the agreement, ensuring they could still benefit if Antony’s career kicks on again.

Why was Neymar crying?

The result, which marked the first time Santos had conceded six goals at home in a Brasileirao game, left the team just two points above the relegation zone after 19 matches. Vasco are actually a place below them in the standings.

Head coach Cleber Xavier was sacked in the hours after the result, one with which Neymar struggled to come to terms.

Speaking after the match, he said, as per BBC Sport: “I’m totally disappointed with our game.

“The fans have the right to protest in all sorts of ways, obviously without physical violence. But cursing and insulting people today is perfectly acceptable. I feel incredibly ashamed; I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life.

Neymar’s contract with Santos runs until December 2025, at which point a decision will have to be made over whether to extend terms again or seek a move elsewhere.

The 33-year-old said he was motivated to “fulfil the dreams that are missing in my career” after re-signing for his boyhood club following the termination of his contract with Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal.

Neymar’s intention certainly seems to be to play at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The forward is Brazil’s all-time record goal-scorer and has played 128 times for the national team since his debut in 2010.

It was anticipated that Neymar might be called up for Brazil’s World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay in June, but he was left out of the roster by new head coach Carlo Ancelotti, who said he was wary of taking risks with the player after he had recently suffered a muscle injury.

Wolf came into Wednesday night expected to go in the first round, even if he wasn’t expected to be a lottery pick. Most mock drafts pinned the 7-foot forward, who averaged 13.2 points and 9.7 rebounds per game last year at Michigan, to land somewhere in the mid-to-late first round.

However, as the draft rolled along, Wolf found himself still sitting with his family, waiting for his name to be called after 26 selections had been made with the second round approaching.

With the Nets on the clock with the 27th overall pick, Wolf was seen by ESPN’s broadcast with his family, appearing to be emotional while shaking his head. It’s unclear whether he was taking in the moment because he knew he was about to be selected, or if he didn’t know about the pick, still hopeful and waiting for his name to be called.

Either way, when Danny Wolf was announced as Brooklyn’s selection at No. 27, all of the emotions came out for the family. He hugged each of his parents and siblings.

While Wolf was joined by his parents for an interview with ESPN’s Monica McNutt, one of his two brothers remained at the table where they were sitting, crying tears of joy for his brother’s moment.

“I think we heard your brother is at the table, still trying to get himself together. Just so much emotions, it’s healthy,” McNutt said. “I’m glad to see you guys letting it out.”

The new Nets forward responded by saying that he has the “two greatest brothers in the world” and an “unbelievable sister who I love,” noting how they all helped him get to where he was. As Wolf spoke to ESPN, a shot of his brother in tears was shown on the broadcast:
