Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury are two of the most famous celebrities ever to have come from Love Island, with the pair having met while on the ITV reality series back in 2019. 

The couple were going from strength to strength, getting engaged in July 2023 half a year after having their first child, Bambi, together. But this all changed last summer when they announced their split. 

Since then, there have been cheating rumors and Molly-Mae has been busy with the launch of her new fashion brand Maebe, all of which and more is covered in the candid new docu-series.

“I think the reason we did the two drops was because a lot of the topics we’ve touched on in the first few episodes are very current and they are ongoing and it’s real life,” she said. 

“I think I’m such a heart on my sleeve kind of girl… I really wanted to share that honesty with my audience.”

Although Tommy and Molly-Mae didn’t get back together by the end of the first half, the social media star did share her hopes that they’ll be able to work things out.

Talking with Entertainment tonightMcCarthy spoke about their absence, noting that he has no hard feelings and acknowledging that “they’re both in the movie in the sense that there are a lot of clips and interviews and things like that,” according to Entertainment Weekly.

As the outlet noted, both breakfast club The stars are seen in the documentary through archival footage and old interviews, but not through new ones. At the end of the film, Nelson arrives via phone call.

“The Brat Pack is an ongoing relationship, you know what I mean?” McCarthy shared. “And some people are at different points in their lives to want or not want to talk about it. I think that informs it even more. I mean, that’s my conclusion.”

Still, McCarthy said he was “surprised that so many people wanted to talk to him.” [him that] he did,” stating that he “thought the biggest challenge would be getting people to participate.”

“I knew it was still a little iffy in some people’s lives,” he added.

McCarthy spoke with DECIDER about the new documentary, explaining that “the film is about the inside versus the outside.”

“The public perceived that the Brat Pack were the cool kids. We perceive it as a fucking nightmare,” she added.

One revelation that emerged from the new film was that Estevez turned down a film adaptation of Young men with unlimited capital alongside McCarthy because he “didn’t want anything to do with” the Brat Pack.

“I didn’t want to see any movies,” he recalled. “If I were Judd [Nelson], I would have said the same. Being seen in another movie could have a negative impact. Working together almost felt like we were kryptonite for each other.”

“The fact that I was basically, my character, was sexually harassed throughout the process and then I go for him at the end. They didn’t understand it at all,” he recalled. “I was very glad that they didn’t like it, that it didn’t turn my daughter on.”

He also delved into the film’s problematic themes in “What’s Up with The breakfast club?”, which was published in The New Yorker in 2018. In the article, he talks about showing the film to his daughter when she was 10 and reflects on the experience of watching these scenes in the context of the #MeToo movement.

The film’s cast was completed by Ally Sheedy, Anthony Michael Hall and Emilio Estevez, who play high school students from different groups caught in detention on a Saturday.
