Toney returned to Frank’s plans at Brentford in January 2024 after serving an eight-month ban for breaching Football Association betting rules.

Previous interest from EPL rivals Arsenal and Chelsea has faded in recent weeks with rumours of two bids coming from the Saudi Pro League.
Toney is not keen on a move to the Middle East, despite an SPL club being more likely to meet Brentford’s £60m ($65m) asking price, but Frank believes the 28-year-old has decided to stay.
“There has been a lot of talk about whether Ivan will leave the club this summer. As of now, he remains a Brentford player,” according to an interview with Sky sports.
“We are getting closer to him remaining a Brentford player. That excites me more and more because he is a top-class player.
“I love working with Ivan and we have a great relationship. I think he will be a Brentford player on September 1st.”
Toney has finished two of Brentford’s three Premier League seasons under Frank as their top scorer, with 36 top-flight goals, and will be crucial to them in the coming months.
Brentford begin their Premier League season at home to local rivals Crystal Palace on August 18.
