Update: added new Borderlands 4 Shift codes on September 12, 2025
Borderlands 4 Shift codes are the easiest way to receive legendary weapons and free rewards in the new looter-shooter by Gearbox. SHiFT codes have been around since the franchise’s inception and have become an almost emblematic feature. Redeeming them primarily offers Golden Keys, and on rare occasions, Diamond Keys, both of which can be slotted into chests to get legendary weapons in Borderlands. So, if you’re on the hunt for some freebies, here are all the currently active Borderlands 4 Shift codes.

What are Borderlands 4 Shift Codes?
Shift codes have been available in every Borderlands game, and in Borderlands 4, they reward players with Golden and Diamond Keys. Both of these items can be slotted into special chests to earn rare weapons, giving players a solid chance of acquiring legendary guns with minimal effort.
Shift codes are released less frequently at the start of the game’s cycle. But after a few months pass by, Gearbox becomes more and more generous and starts dropping keys on a consistent basis. Eventually, you end up with codes that hand out multiple Golden Keys and Diamond Keys, making it easier to receive to overpowered weapons.
How to Get More Borderlands 4 Shift Codes
Shift codes for Borderlands 4 are dropped at random times by Gearbox devs, which is why it can be tricky to keep up with their release. Gearbox CEO, Randy Pitchford, is also known to reveal codes almost on a whim: a fun idea, but again, tricky to keep up with.
If you’d like to stay in tune with their release, make sure to follow the official Borderlands account on X, as well as Randy Pitchford’s personal account, @DuvalMagic.
With that being said, the easiest way to get Shift codes is on this page itself. We will update this post immediately after the release of every code, meaning you’ll always stay in the loop. So, make sure to bookmark this post and revisit for more Golden Keys.
How to Redeem Hazard Pay Weapon Skin
Even if there are no Shift codes available, you can still grab a free reward in the shape of the Hazard Pay weapon skin. Here’s what you need to do:
- Log in to your Shift account on the official website.
- Head to the Profile section and scroll all the way down to User Preferences

- Now, tick the box that lets you receive news and promotional messages from 2K.
- If your Shift account is linked to the platform you’re playing BL4 on, you’ll receive an in-game email with a Shift code for the Hazard Pay skin.
- Redeem it by following the steps from the previous section to get your reward.
The Hazard Pay weapon skin will be redeemable until 2030. We’ll probably have seen all of Borderlands 4’s post-launch content by then, so there’s plenty of time for most players to grab the skin.
That is everything you need to know about Borderlands 4 Shift codes and how to redeem them. For more on the game, be sure to check an overview of Borderlands 4’s endgame.
