The Formula One season heads to Hungary this weekend before the near month-long break in the 2025 calendar.

Oscar Piastri took the win at Spa-Francorchamps last time out to open out a 16-point lead at the top of the drivers’ standings over McLaren teammate Lando Norris.

The Australian pipped Norris to the chequered flag at the Hungaroring last year and will fancy his chances of extending his advantage in the race for the world championship.

This weekend could be a challenging one if rain falls as predicted on Sunday. Saturday’s session is expected to be in dry and warm conditions, but the possibility of changeable weather means anyone who struggles in qualifying could yet pull out a result on race day.

F1 Hungarian Grand Prix weather forecast

Below is the latest weather forecast for the race weekend at the Hungaroring, Mogyorod, in central Hungary.

Friday, August 1: FP1, FP2

It’s expected to cloud over during Friday afternoon at the Hungaroring, which could see air temperatures drop by a few degrees, although it will still be around the mid-20s Celsius (low to mid-70s F). Rain is possible, but unlikely. Wind speeds should be low.

Saturday, August 2: FP3, Qualifying

Saturday is expected to be a warm day, with temperatures perhaps exceeding 30 Celsius (86 F). Humidity should be reasonably low despite the cloud cover. Rain is unlikely during FP3 and qualifying.

Sunday, August 3: Race

Rain is predicted to fall overnight into Sunday, with a risk of some thundery downpours. The likelihood of rain will have reduced by the time we get to the start of the race, but conditions look changeable.  We could see varying grip levels on the track as different sections dry out. Temperatures will be slightly lower than Saturday, with wind speeds a fraction higher.
