The Los Angeles Rams are one of the teams going all-in for the 2026 NFL season.

The Rams have already swung a huge trade, acquiring Trent McDuffie from the Kansas City Chiefs using a first-round pick, and they might not be done.

The Rams were reportedly in trade talks with the Philadelphia Eagles for wide receiver A.J. Brown. Those talks didn’t materialize, and now Brown looks more likely to head elsewhere.

While the Rams might not be getting him, what were they initially offering to the Eagles for Brown in a trade?

ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed some key insight into the Rams’ trade proposal to the Eagles for Brown and which picks were being discussed.

Rams trade discussion with Eagles for A.J. Brown revealed

“Picks in future years were the compensation that was discussed when the Eagles and Rams had extensive trade conversations regarding Brown,” Schefter reports, “which did not materialize into a deal.”

Howie Roseman and Les Snead couldn’t work out a trade involving Brown, but even if they did come to some agreement, it wouldn’t involve 2026 draft picks.

The Eagles can’t realistically trade Brown until at least June 1st; otherwise, they’d be taking on far too much money. Instead, trading him after that date would help them save some money and land future capital.

Schefter’s report indicates the Rams and Eagles discussed a trade revolving around Brown, the All-Pro WR, with the 2027 and 2028 NFL Draft picks as the prime return for Philadelphia.

No deal was struck, and the two sides have seemingly drifted apart since. While it’s too soon to rule out a trade, as Brown is still on the Eagles, the New England Patriots look like the far more likely destination for Brown.

Having Puka Nacua and Davante Adams with Brown would be a ridiculously good WR room, but the Rams backed down from the Eagles’ steep asking price, pivoting elsewhere for their third WR.
