Doc Rivers will look for his first win as Bucks head coach when he faces the Trail Blazers on Wednesday.
In his return to the bench, Rivers came up short against Michael Malone and the Nuggets, falling by a final score of 113-107. Despite the loss, Rivers, who left his job as an ESPN analyst to replace Adrian Griffin, felt the Bucks could take advantage of his performance.
“Our half-court defense was excellent. We fought tonight.” rivers said. “I thought tonight was an offensive loss. I didn’t think we were sharp offensively. We had stretches where the ball was whizzing and jumping, and then we had stretches where it wasn’t.
“We have to clean those sections. But in general, I am very happy.”
Milwaukee will now look to bounce back against a Portland team that has lost 11 of its last 16 games.
