Just a week after an epic encounter at the Hungaroring saw the 2024 World Drivers’ Championship race take another thrilling turn, F1 race day is upon us once again as all 20 drivers prepare to take on the iconic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in the Belgian Grand Prix.
Spa is one of the most recognisable circuits on the entire motorsport calendar. It is arguably the crème de la crème when it comes to the fastest tracks on the current F1 circuit, and reigning world champion Max Verstappen will be hoping that works in his favour as he looks to return to the winner’s circle.
Verstappen has failed to win any of the last three races – his longest winless run since the 2021 season – and that has seen George Russell, Lewis Hamilton and Oscar Piastri all claim their first wins of the season. Piastri and McLaren team-mate Lando Norris recorded a one-two finish in Hungary last weekend, with the Australian taking his first career victory.
After letting Piastri pass him towards the end of the Hungarian Grand Prix, Norris will be hoping he can take charge this time around to claim just his second win of the season at Spa – especially as, as a British and Belgian citizen, it is technically his home race.

When will the next F1 race take place after the Belgian Grand Prix?
We’re nearing the end of this summer’s long run of back-to-back European races, with just two more to come on the continent before heading to Asia and the Americas for the final, crucial rounds of the campaign. But before that, there’s another unique circuit to tackle at the 2024 Dutch Grand Prix.
The 20 drivers will take to the track after the month-long summer break, the last major period of the season without racing, at the Zandvoort circuit in North Holland. After today’s race at Spa, it will be four weeks before the action resumes. Sunday, August 25, 2024.
The Dutch Grand Prix has been held sporadically 35 times since its debut in 1950, and returned to the circuit in 2021 after last being won by the great Niki Lauda in 1985! It is also Verstappen’s home race, and the Red Bull star has won each of the three meetings at Circuit Zandvoort since its return to the calendar, en route to the Drivers’ World Championship titles in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
