Inter Miami faces its final MLS game for a month with the club back atop the Eastern Conference standings.

Inter Miami will host Xherdan Shaqiri and the Chicago Fire on Saturday, July 20 at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Herons are coming off a dominant 3-1 win over Toronto FC in a midweek match, and coupled with FC Cincinnati’s loss to the Fire on Wednesday, it propelled Inter Miami back to the top of the standings.

Lionel Messi missed Wednesday’s game and is doubtful for this weekend due to an ankle injury he sustained while with the national team, but Inter Miami’s youngsters continue to have a big impact on the team. Midfielder Federico Redondo scored a pair of goals in Inter Miami’s win over Toronto, with 21-year-old Diego Gomez scoring the opener.

Meanwhile, the Fire scored a surprising victory over then-first-place FC Cincinnati when talented 21-year-old local Brian Gutierrez scored the game-winning goal.

This is the last game for both teams until mid-August as MLS takes a break for Leagues Cup, which begins Friday, July 26.

Jugo Mobile looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch, kick-off times and the latest news on the lineup.

Inter Miami vs. Chicago Fire lineups and updates

As Messi continues to recover from his ankle ligament injury, Inter Miami welcomed back Luis Suarez, who played 29 minutes plus stoppage time off the bench in Inter Miami’s 3-1 win, and came close to scoring twice. Substitute players such as Ian Fray and Yannick Bright continue to make positive contributions, and Federico Redondo showed this week why he is expected to play in Europe one day. Noah Allen performed well off the bench after Serhiy Kryvtsov’s injury.

Inter Miami will lose Diego Gomez, who will play for Paraguay, and Benji Cremaschi has already left to play for the United States national team.

Inter Miami’s projected starting lineup (4-3-3): Callender (GK) – Frey, Aviles, Allen, Alba – Ruiz, Redondo, Rojas – Taylor, Bell, Gressel.

Xherdan Shaqiri announced his international retirement from Switzerland this week, but this game may be too soon for the talented striker after Euro 2024.

Chicago Fire projected starting lineup (3-5-2): Brady (GK) – Souquet, Omsberg, Czichos – Arigoni, Acosta, Giménez, Gutiérrez, Dean – Cuypers, Maren Haile-Selassie.

Inter Miami vs. Chicago Fire Prediction

It seems like Inter Miami’s brutal loss at FC Cincinnati was a pure fluke, as Martino believes the Herons will win with or without Messi on the field. The Fire earned a big win at home on Wednesday, but it’s still unclear if they can repeat it on the road. They’ll have their chances, as Inter Miami’s defensive line suffered another injury, but Inter Miami should have enough offense to get the win in this match.

Prediction: Inter Miami 3-1 Chicago Fire
