Argentina understandably thought they had seen the last of Canada when they overcame a spirited performance from Jesse Marsch’s side with a 2-0 victory in the opening match of the Copa America.
But the Canadian national team has not lost a match since, surprising Peru with a 1-0 victory and securing Group A advancement with a goalless draw against Chile.
Marsch’s men then beat Venezuela on penalties and will face the Albiceleste again after Lionel Scaloni’s team was also beaten in the final by Ecuador.
As each team looks to secure their return to MetLife Stadium for Sunday’s final, one man could hold their fate in his hands.
