The Espanyol custodian has a lucrative €25m (£21m) release clause, which will soar up to €30m (£25.2m) if he receives a call-up from the Spain national team.
Given his performances for the last couple of seasons, it looks extremely likely that he will get his maiden national team call-up sooner rather than later.
So there’s a possibility of Arsenal losing out on the Spanish goalkeeper, who is also a prime target for teams like Aston Villa, Manchester United and Newcastle.
