Wolves manager Gary O’Neil has signed a deal to extend his contract until 2028.
The former midfielder was drafted in as a replacement for Julen Lopetegui just days before the start of the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.
O’Neil guided Bournemouth to safety in his only season with the Cherries, in 2022/23, before being sacked from his post at Dean Court.
Wolves’ gamble on signing him paid off as he secured a 14th-place finish in his debut campaign at Molineux and Wolves have shown their faith in him and his coaching staff ahead of the new campaign.

Chairman Jeff Shi said: “I believe the club has a positive future ahead, building on a new cycle of growth, improved results on the pitch and ambitions to be realised.
“To prepare for that, we need a very good team and I think Gary is a key member of the team, maybe even the most important member, so we are very happy to have him here for the long term.”
In addition to O’Neil, assistant coach Tim Jenkins, first-team coaches Shaun Derry and Ian Burchnall, head goalkeeper Neil Cutler and first-team coach analyst Woody Dewar have all signed new deals with the club.
Wolves face La Liga side Rayo Vallecano in their final pre-season game, at home on August 10, before their Premier League opener against Arsenal seven days later.
