But if you gifted Nitro to someone, how do you know if they claimed the offer? Or, if you’re a recipient, how do you know if the gift someone sent you is still valid?

Is there a way to see who claimed their Nitro gift?
If you want to give the gift of Nitro to someone, it may not always be clear whether they have claimed the gift or not. This is because, by default, Discord does not send a notification when the gift is accepted.
Although some users will leave a “thank you” note in your direct messages after accepting the gift, some may forget to contact you. This can keep you in the dark and make you wonder if they received the gift link in the first place.
If you want to know if your friend accepted their Discord Nitro gift, follow these steps:
- Log in to your account and navigate to the User Settings section.
- Select “Gift Inventory” from the menu on the left side of the screen.
If your friend hasn’t accepted the gift yet, you’ll see it here. You can even choose to revoke the offer and give it to someone else.
How to check if a Nitro gift has been claimed as a recipient
Nitro gift links are only valid for 48 hours. Additionally, a user could send the gift link to multiple users simultaneously, either by accident or on purpose. When that happens, whoever reacts fastest wins.
This means that it is imperative to accept the gift as soon as possible.
If you received a gift link but are not sure if it was claimed, simply open the link in a browser. A gift that has already been claimed will display the error “This gift has already been claimed.”
Remember that if you’re already running Discord in a browser, you don’t need to open the gift link to check its status. If it has already been claimed, you will see a grayed out “Claimed” button in the bottom left corner.

What happens if I give Nitro to the wrong user?
Once a user has accepted a Nitro gift, they will not be able to recover it. Discord admins cannot help you “give up” a gift. What’s more, you cannot be issued a refund. You can only receive a refund if the Nitro gift has not yet been claimed.
Can I revoke a Nitro gift after submitting the link?
The answer is yes. To view gifts that can be revoked, open the User Settings section and navigate to “Gift Inventory.”
Stay informed
If you’re not sure if your Discord Nitro gift has been claimed, there’s an easy way to check. Simply open the User Settings tab in your account and scroll down until you see “Gift Inventory.” This will give you a list of all the gifts that have not yet been claimed.
As a recipient, claimed gift links will not open at all. You will simply receive a message indicating that the gift has already been claimed.
