If you’ve had enough of Instagram, you’ve come to the right place. Studies old and new have linked rising anxiety and depression to an increasingly technology-saturated world, and social media is seen as the main culprit behind this insidious dynamic.
With the content that abounds on Instagram, of the pious people who eat cleanly and who subsist on their diet of spiralized beets and FaceTuneIn addition to the increasingly ubiquitous ads promoted by the app, the image-sharing platform can be a toxic place.
We are not the only ones who think this way either. Google just released its 2018 year in review, and among the searches for Meghan Markle, the World Cup, and flossing (the dancing, not the dental hygiene variety) were queries about how to delete Instagram.
Reaching fourth place in the “How to…?” category, “How to delete Instagram?” I was stuck between “How to get back old Snapchat?” and “How to delete Facebook?” – a sign that, when it comes to social media, the tide is turning.
If you need a detox, you have two options: you can delete your Instagram account permanently, which will delete all photos shared on the site or app, or you can deactivate Instagram temporarily.
