History was made Sunday at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
It may have been a home game for the 76ers, but Knicks star Jalen Brunson looked comfortable on the same court he dominated during his final season at Villanova.
The Knicks faithful infiltrated Philadelphia territory and their cheers could be heard at every moment of the New York star point guard’s record-breaking performance. Brunson was unstoppable in Game 4, leading the 76ers for a Knicks franchise postseason record 47 points.
Behind Brunson, the Knicks stole a 97-92 road victory and took a 3-1 series lead.
The game was just the latest of many iconic moments Brunson has provided in a New York uniform this season. With New York just one win at Madison Square Garden away from advancing to the Eastern Conference Semifinals, Brunson is beginning to build a case for his place in Knicks franchise history.

Brunson stands alone at the top of Knicks franchise playoff history after his 47-point explosion in Game 4 against the 76ers.
The star guard tore through Philadelphia, getting to the rim at will and burying mid-range jumper after mid-range jumper until the job was done.
It didn’t matter who the 76ers threw at Brunson or how many bodies collapsed on his drives. Tyrese Maxey, Tobias Harris, Kelly Oubre Jr. and Kyle Lowry all had a chance to take advantage of the Knicks’ offensive engine and Brunson made the right read every time, also dishing out 10 assists.

His 15-point explosion in the third quarter pushed New York to a one-point lead entering the quarter, but Brunson suffered an ankle injury that forced him to go to the locker room between periods.
He returned to the court early in the quarter, and even an ankle injury didn’t stop him from scoring nine points in the fourth quarter to defeat the 76ers.
In addition to his franchise playoff scoring record, Brunson also had the first 40-point, 10-assist game in Knicks postseason history.
You can add it to his list of accomplishments this season, headlined by his career-high 61-point performance in March, which was one shy of Carmelo Anthony’s New York franchise record.
As Brunson continues to etch his name in the Knicks’ record books, conversation has broken out about his trajectory as one of New York’s all-time greats.
“Since I came to the league in 2001, he’s been the best Knicks player I’ve seen in the NBA,” ESPN analyst. Richard Jefferson said on the broadcast. during Brunson’s Game 4 takeover.

Brunson’s 47 points surpassed Bernard King in Knicks playoff history, who scored 46 points on two separate occasions. Brunson, King and Patrick Ewing are the only players in New York history with 45 or more points in a playoff game.
