Dragon House Season 2 Episode 2 “Rhaenyra the Cruel” wastes no time introducing the next wildly horrible event from George RR Martin’s faux Westerosi history book. Fire and blood. Just as in the book, the HBO version of the Green Team, also known as the supporters of Aegon II (Tom Glynn-Carney), attempts to directly counterattack the leader of the Black Team, Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) with a harebrained plan involving twin members. of the pided Royal Guard.

**Spoilers for Dragon House Season 2 Episode 2 “Rhaenyra the Cruel”, now available on Max**

Approximately half Dragon House Season 2 Episode 2 “Rhaenyra the Cruel,” a guilt-stricken Ser Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel) projects his own wrath onto Ser Arryk Cargyll (Luke Tittensor). Last season, Ser Arryk and his twin Ser Erryk (Elliott Tittensor) were tasked with helping Ser Criston Cole and Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell) find the rebel Aegon before his coronation. Ser Erryk was so disgusted with Aegon and his beating that he stole Viserys’ (Paddy Considine) crown, also known as the crown of Jaehaerys the Conciliator, and took it to Rhaenyra on Dragonstone. (The Greens crowned Aegon with the more brutal-looking crown of Aegon the Conqueror to reinforce his claim to the Iron Throne.)

However, now that Daemon (Matt Smith) has managed to sneak assassins into the Red Keep to assassinate little Jaehaerys, Ser Criston Cole decides it makes sense to give Rhaenyra the same treatment. He tasks Ser Arryk with traveling to Dragonstone to impersonate her brother, infiltrate Rhaenyra’s chambers, and assassinate her. Rhaenyra is only saved because Mysaria (Sonoya Mizuno) caught on to Ser Arryk’s ruse and decided to expose the plot.

What follows is a tense fight scene between the twin knights that culminates in both their deaths. One manages to prevail over the other, but the guilt is too much. The surviving brother quickly falls on his sword.

Dragon House “Rhaenyra the Cruel” Season 2, Episode 2 Finale Explained: Which Cargyll Twin Wins the Duel and Falls on His Sword? Being Arryk or Being Erryk?

Are you still trying to figure out which twin dealt the killing blow and quickly fell on his sword? The decider posed the blank question to Dragon House Showrunner Ryan Condal during a recent roundtable interview in New York City.

“That’s Erryk at the end, who is the last survivor, the one who falls,” Condal said, making sure to confirm for us that he was referring to Ser Erryk and not Ser Arryk.

“Erryk is the one who falls on his sword at the end, yes,” Condal said. “So, you know, Arryk is dead. The infiltrator is dead and then Erryk falls on the sword.”

“So when he says ‘Your Excellency’ to the queen, that’s when she knows who he is.”

Additionally, Condal had nothing but the highest praise for Luke Tittensor and Elliott Tittensor.

“Look, they are incredible actors and performers. They did all that themselves. They studied that choreography. They learned it from Rowley. [Irlam], the specialist coordinator,” said Condal. “They did that whole fight alone and it’s amazing and moving.”

However, Condal sympathized with our plight when trying to differentiate Ser Arryk and Ser Erryk…

Dragon House Showrunner Ryan Condal explains how to tell the Cargyll twins apart: Is it Ser Arryk or Ser Erryk?

Have you had trouble telling Ser Arryk Cargyll apart from Ser Erryk Cargyll? (Because I definitely have!)

Good, Dragon House Showrunner Ryan Condal has a helpful tip: “So the way to remember is that Arryk, ‘A’, goes with Aegon and Erryk, ‘E’, is played by Elliott Tittensor.”

“It was very confusing last season because we had Luke and Elliott Tittensor, the Cargyll twins. And then we also had Elliott. [Grihault] who played Luke Velaryon, which is very confusing,” Condal said. “Then you’d start saying ‘Elliot,’ ‘Luke,’ and ‘What?’ And ‘Are we talking about the character, the actor or whatever?’”

Are you still fighting to keep the Cargylls in order? Well, according to Condal, “they told us that their own mother confuses them and they have deceived her own mother by changing her beard or whatever.”

“They are very difficult to differentiate,” he admitted. “Elliott has tattoos all over his arms, which is great when they’re not in costume. But the moment they put on the costume, you can’t tell them apart anymore.”

“Although, in the end, I could. I was able to do it and I was very, very proud of it.” Teach us your ways!

All of which is to say that Ser Erryk, played by Elliott Tittensor, defeats his brother Ser Arryk, played by Luke Tittensor, and then Ser Erryk falls on his sword.
