Before becoming a scream queen and joining the cast of Ryan Murphy American Horror Story By 2013, Emma Roberts was already known for numerous film credits, including her short-lived Nickelodeon series. Not fabulous.
The actress recently reflected on her experience working as a child actress, especially in light of the alarming allegations leveled by many former Nickelodeon stars in the documentary series Max, Silence on the set: the dark side of children’s television.
Roberts said Variety who, in fact, watched the series after its premiere on Max in March.
“I was completely horrified and shocked because that was not my experience,” she said. “It made me very, very, very sad that this was happening to people that I saw often and had no idea about.”
The series featured several actors who appeared in Everything that, The Amanda Showand Zoey 101 to share his experiences working with Dan Schneider, a writer who had become a prolific showrunner and creator of Nickelodeon. Drake Bell also came forward as the anonymous victim who had been sexually assaulted by a Nickelodeon employee in 2004.
Roberts praised the two people who made sure she had a positive experience working at Not fabulous Between 2004 and 2007: His mother and Not fabulous Showrunner Sue Rose.
“For me, my program, Not fabulous“The showrunner that we had was an amazing woman named Sue Rose. And I didn’t realize it at the time, but it wasn’t very common back then to have a female showrunner. But that was my introduction to working on a television show,” she explained.
She added that her mother, Kelly Cunningham, was also by her side on set “24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
“Even I was like, ‘You don’t have to be here all the time,’ and she was like, ‘Actually, I do have to be here. I’m not going to let you out of my sight. You’re not going to go to a fitting by yourself when you’re 13,’” she recalled.

“It makes me very sad… That documentary really kept me up at night,” she said.
The actress also mentioned another family member who has supported her career: her aunt, Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts.
Emma said she would “love” to collaborate with her aunt, but they have not yet found the “perfect project.”
“It’s never been the right thing to do. She’s the best and I want to do something with her,” he said. “We send each other books and talk about things, but it just hasn’t been the right thing to do.”
