Jugo Mobile can confirm that Toya Turner will be joining the cast for season 12 as patrol officer Kiana Cook. TV Line She was the first to report the news. Her character is described as someone “who loves the adrenaline of the job and its risks and doesn’t blink at the chaos.” As noted by TVLine, the role was previously named Yara Page.
Turner may be best known for Warrior Nuna series that was cancelled after two seasons by Netflix but she gained a group of loyal followers. She has entered the A Chicago universe previously through cameos in both Chicago Fire (2014) and Chicago Medicine (2016). His other television credits include Empire, Easy, The mickand New Amsterdam and Grey’s Anatomy.
She also appeared in Dead women walking (2018), which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Other casting developments in Dick Wolf’s television library include Chicago FireJocelyn Hudon will be promoted to series regular, as well as Chicago Police Department Alumnus Jesse Lee Soffer takes on the new role of Supervisory Special Agent Wesley “Wes” Mitchell in FBI: International.

According to TVLine, the news of Turner’s casting comes shortly after Chicago Police Department‘s season 11 finale in May, which saw the exit of Hailey Upton Halstead (Tracy Spiridakos). Spiridakos, who joined the cast in season 4, said Variety who had made the decision to leave the series “at the end of [her] sixth season”, noting that “I wanted [them] to say goodbye to the character with one last season.”
Season 12 of Chicago Police Department Premieres September 25 at 10/9c on NBC. Previous seasons can be watched on Peacock.
