Former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has made a stunning claim about Mohamed Salah’s future at Anfield.
The Croatian, who is a close friend of the Egyptian star, has hinted that Salah is closer to leaving Liverpool than staying.

Salah’s contract expires at the end of the season, and so far, no agreement has been reached for an extension. The 32-year-old has repeatedly stated that he wants to stay, but negotiations have not made progress.
Lovren, who spent three seasons with Salah at Liverpool, believes the club is not giving the forward the respect he deserves.
Speaking in an interview, Lovren revealed, “We are still in touch. We talk every now and then. I have to be careful what I say, but I know a lot of things.”
He added, “Whatever he’s asking for, he deserves it. He’s doing his job on the pitch. Look at Ronaldo—he’s 40 and still playing. Salah is in great shape, still scoring goals. So what’s the problem?”
Lovren suggested that Salah feels something is missing from Liverpool’s side of the negotiations. “He is closer to leaving than staying,” Lovren admitted.
“I personally want him to stay. I told him, ‘Mo, you have to think about yourself. Look at everything you’ve given this club.’ But I don’t think he gets the respect he deserves.”
Salah’s statistics speak for themselves. For years, he has been one of the best players in the world, consistently scoring goals and delivering for Liverpool.
Lovren pointed out, “If it were Messi or Ronaldo, the media would be talking about their contract situation every day. But Salah doesn’t get that same attention.”

Lovren also addressed the possibility of Salah joining the Saudi Pro League if Liverpool fails to offer him a new contract.
“He loves Liverpool a lot and wants to stay. But if he leaves, why not? The Saudi league is becoming more competitive. If Mo goes there, he will be a huge star and bring fans with him.”
