Isak’s first scheduled opportunity for a reunion with his former club is when Newcastle visit Anfield in the Premier League on January 31.
Newcastle have already hosted Liverpool this season, losing 3-2 as Anthony Gordon was sent off and the Isak saga supplied an incendiary backdrop.
Before the January game on Merseyside, it is feasible that Newcastle and Liverpool could draw one another in either the Carabao Cup or FA Cup.
It’s a fixture in which Isak enjoyed plenty of success when wearing the black and white stripes. His game-clinching goal in last season’s Carabao Cup final was one of four in six appearances against Liverpool.
