Just over a year after the launch of Betrayal: The Perfect HusbandAnother installment of the series based on the true crime podcast Treason is headed to Hulu.
In a press release shared on Tuesday, ABC News Studios announced the upcoming arrival of the three-part docuseries titled Betrayal: A Father’s Secretwhich centers on a Utah mother of three named Ashley Lytton “as she uncovers her husband Jason’s secret, leaving her fearing for her family’s safety and future.”
“Following this devastating discovery, Ashley takes swift action to protect her family from the man she thought she knew best, unraveling a tangled web of dark truths along the way,” the statement continued.
In the trailer released this week, Ashley recalls finding “a hidden folder” of Jason’s and struggles to share what she discovered was inside.
“I don’t think I can say it, I’m sorry,” he laments. “I just need a break.”
This is followed by excerpts from interviews with other subjects, who describe what happened as “shocking” and “heartbreaking.”
Ashley adds: “I realized that my life will never be the same.”

According ABC 4 UtahJason was booked in 2021 on 100 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor but was ultimately charged with two misdemeanor counts of voyeurism, a third-degree felony count of obstruction of justice, and 10 second-degree felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. According to the outlet, Jason was exposed after someone who helped him create a Venmo account discovered “hundreds” of photographs featuring naked young girls. Police found more than 1,000 of these photographs on Jason’s phone after obtaining a search warrant.
In 2022, the exit reported Jason was granted a plea deal, in which he pleaded guilty to two counts of voyeurism and one of the second-degree felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. Under the deal, he would spend 329 days in the Salt Lake County Jail and be subject to two years of supervised probation. Other aspects of the deal include that Jason will not be allowed access to the Internet and will be required to complete a cognitive behavioral program and a mental health evaluation. He would also have to participate in a parenting class and abide by the conditions of the Group A sex offenders.
