The word of the day at Dan Quinn’s introductory press conference? It seems like it’s constipation.
The Commanders’ new coach impressed from the pulpit, offering numerous quips that showcased his motivational and leadership skills, qualities that likely prompted general manager Adam Peters to hire the former Cowboys defensive coordinator.
However, it had a wobble. As his news conference neared its conclusion, Quinn hoped to make a powerful statement, the kind of comment that would resonate loudly around Washington’s training facility for years to come.
Quinn’s statement will certainly spin around in some people’s minds. However, the reason might not be exactly as she planned.
Quinn decided to drop an insult, hoping to give the audience an idea of the kind of energy he plans to incite in the commanding force. However, she could have chosen a better one.

Quinn resembled another famous Dan with his rhetoric. Washington’s newfound quarterback sounded eerily similar to Lions boss Dan Campbell, another burly figure who tends to leave people weary with his trove of one-liners.

However, this one did not provoke the positive reaction that Campbell’s usually provokes. Instead, people clowned the former Falcons coach for letting slip such a bad, and terribly perfect, finishing touch to his presentation in DC.

Otherwise, Quinn’s initial presser went smoothly, with Quinn dropping gems about everything from the win to Eric Bieniemy’s status with the team going forward.
Ultimately, though, it’s hard to get over the stomach problems Quinn admitted to.
