Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans’ Christmas action movie one red has suffered significant delays. While many attributed this to last year’s strikes, a new report alleges that some of the blame could lie with his leading movie star.
Several experts involved in the production spoke with The coatdetailing Johnson’s lack of professionalism on set that allegedly caused the film’s budget to skyrocket to over $250 million.
“The only thing Dwayne was consistent about was being chronically late,” one said. one red the source said.
The report claims that Johnson was regularly late to set, reportedly averaging seven to eight hours late per day, while sometimes even missing “several full days of production.”
“It was a fucking disaster,” another source told the outlet. Others agreed, with one noting, “Dwayne really doesn’t give a damn.”
Johnson’s other commitments forced them to postpone production of the Christmas movie twice, and production did not resume until November 2022.
Sources who worked with Johnson on previous projects, including HBO players, also corroborated some of the claims made in the report. “They rent a location where they can film as much of the other actors as they can while they wait for him to decide if he’s coming to the set,” said a producer who visited the set of players reclaimed.
A former production assistant on the show noted that Johnson “typically arrived three or four hours late to the set. Keeping over 100 crew members waiting for no reason.”
An Amazon spokesperson shut down the claims made in the report, defending Johnson and his production company Seven Bucks.
“Dwayne Johnson and Seven Bucks have been incredible partners inone red—A movie that audiences of all ages will love this holiday season,” the spokesperson said. “Our testing has been very strong… and we couldn’t have done it without Dwayne’s constant work and support. “Any report that implies that we got to this point where he was seven or eight hours late to the set is ridiculous and false.”

People It previously reported that Johnson’s “chronic” lateness was what sparked his feuds with Vin Diesel and Ryan Reynolds.
“Vin has been having issues with The Rock because The Rock keeps showing up late to production,” a source said. People in 2023. “Sometimes it doesn’t show up and is delaying production.”
Reynolds and Johnson reportedly didn’t speak for years after they had a “huge fight” on the set of red noticewhich later became Netflix’s most watched movie.
The report also details a particularly strange behavior by Johnson that he has bragged about before: urinating in water bottles to save time.
one red Insiders also claimed that problems on set were exacerbated by inexperienced lead producer Hiram Garcia, the brother of Johnson’s ex-wife, whom he named president of his production company, as well as Amazon executives working on the film.
A source said they were “not prepared” to take on such a big-budget film.
