We all have our favorite browsers and we all have misconceptions about their peers. You’ve probably heard many people complain about Google Chrome, stating that it “gets slow” after a while. You probably aren’t aware of the fact that most other browsers experience slowness at some point.

Before you tell your friend that he was right and your Google Chrome really started dragging, you should try to fix this problem. Make no mistake, any browser you choose can start to have similar problems. Instead of switching from one browser to another, try fixing the one you prefer. If you try to open Chrome and encounter slow performance, you’re not alone.

Fixing slow Chrome startup can be a big help speeding up chromeand making your browsing experience much better. Here’s how to fix a slow opening with Google Chrome.

Google Chrome takes a while to open how to

Common reasons why browsers are slow to open

One of the most common problems with browsers, in general, starts when the browser takes forever to load. Now, you could blame Windows; After all, it is a fairly buggy operating system, in which case it needs to be reinstalled. But what’s the problem if everything works quite or completely fine on your operating system? Well, you certainly won’t reinstall the entire system because Chrome is malfunctioning, right?

Of course not. But you shouldn’t abandon ship and join another sailing team either. Because? As mentioned, this can also happen in Firefox, Opera, and even Safari.

This is a pretty annoying topic. You’ve probably even developed a habit of loading your PC, clicking the Chrome icon, heading to the kitchen to make some coffee, and returning to a semi-working browser. You don’t want to support this habit, that’s for sure.

Some users have even reported that the browser takes up to 15 minutes to load. That’s just outrageous!

The underlying cause here is not singular. Chances are, there are a number of issues contributing to Chrome’s slow loading. Here’s how to approach this.

Restart the router

This may sound like something a tech support officer would say, but they always mention it for a good reason: it happens more often than you might imagine. Whatever the problem is with an application that uses the Internet, your first solution should be to restart your router.

  1. If there is a dedicated on/off button on your router, press it.
  2. Then, disconnect all cables (including the power adapter). Let it rest for about five minutes.
  3. Now, plug everything back in and see if Chrome loads faster. This will most likely not solve the problem, but it may save you unnecessary trouble.

Reset the network adapter

As with the router, it may be your network adapter that is misbehaving. To do this, you will have to use the command prompt.

  1. Open the Start menu, type “Symbol of the system”, and select Execute as an administrator.Windows Start Menu
  2. Now write “netsh winsock reset“and hit Get into. Command Prompt: netsh command
  3. Reboot the system and see if this fixed your problem.

Disable extensions

One of the culprits for slow Chrome startup is Chrome extensions. Although they are the pride and joy of the browser, some may not agree with your PC. That’s why a simple reinstall doesn’t help; Chrome allows you to use your Google account for quick setup. Automatically loads all your extensions and settings when you log in.

  1. Open Chrome and click the menu icon in the corner. Chrome menu
  2. Select More tools > Extensions. Chrome Settings Menu
  3. Next, click the toggle switches next to your extensions to disable them. Chrome Extensions Tab
  4. Now, turn off everything, restart your computer and try running Chrome. If it loads quickly, one or more of your extensions are simply taking too long to load.

Disable hardware acceleration

Hardware acceleration seems like something that helps things happen faster. This feature helps your PC perform some hardware operations as efficiently as possible. Sometimes, however, you try to execute hardware operations more efficiently than possible. This often results in slow startup issues, which is common in many programs, including Chrome.

Many programs use hardware acceleration, including video games, so you can always try turning it off if the application in question is slow to load.

  1. For Chrome, open the browser and click Customize and control Google Chrome (the three dots in the upper right corner of the browser). Chrome menu
  2. From the drop-down list, select Settings. Chrome Settings
  3. Now click Advanced > SystemIt is located on the left side of the screen.Chrome Settings
  4. Then click the toggle switch to Use hardware acceleration when available disabled. TO Relaunch The option will appear. Click on it to turn off Chrome, restart it automatically, and see if the slow loading issue persists. 1713385483 889 Google Chrome takes a while to open how to

Rename the default folder

As mentioned above, reinstalling the Chrome app will not help you. When you reinstall Chrome and sign in to your Google Account, it will automatically load all your settings and extensions. However, while syncing your account, you can select which settings/extensions you want to import.

Everything your profile does yours It’s in a certain folder on a computer you’re using right now. Every time you sync your Chrome account on a different laptop, Chrome downloads that same folder to the device. To try to speed up the Chrome loading process on a particular device, you should try creating a new folder. This is the Default folder and is located in your Google Chrome directory.

  1. Open File Explorer, type “C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data“and hit Get into. To automatically navigate to the folder in question, open the Run program and paste this into the address bar: “%LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data”.
  2. Now, find the Default folder and rename it to, for example, “Default Backup”. Try running Google Chrome to see if this fixed the issue.

Google Chrome loading issues

There are many underlying causes that can cause Chrome to load extremely slowly. At least one of the solutions mentioned should work. However, if not, be sure to contact Google Chrome support and let them know about your issue. They should help you fix it and help you continue using your favorite browser.
