How to know if someone deleted Life360

Life360 is designed to be the ultimate tracking app as it is difficult to trick and spoof your location. Because of this, some members of your circles may feel that the app is invading their privacy and decide to delete it. There are two ways to delete Life360 and you may not immediately realize that a member has done it.

You can delete your Life360 profile or delete the app itself, plus there is an option for the Circle creator to delete people as well. Depending on what you do, you may receive a notification that a member is no longer available on Life360.

What happens if someone deletes the Life360 app?

If a member decides to delete the app, the administrator and other members of the circle do not receive any notification. This is logical because Life360 does not have access to the settings of the iPhone or Android applications. However, deleting the app also deletes your system profile; Life360 circles may not detect changes immediately.

For example, the app could display the last recorded location, display “Location tracking paused,” or display an exclamation point until the software registers that the user has left. The member’s location beacon will then disappear and will not appear in any of the circles.

What happens if someone deletes the Life360 account?

The developer does not provide any information if a notification appears when someone deletes the Life360 account. However, it is easy to notice that the person is no longer there. First, the user’s location stops updating, and again a message may appear stating that it is temporarily disabled.

But don’t immediately think that the member deleted the app or account. The location may not update when there is no network, if the battery is below 20%, and when a member decides to turn off tracking. Additionally, VPNs and silent modes are also very good at spoofing someone’s whereabouts.

With this in mind, you may want to access the People menu, the first icon at the bottom left of the screen. There, you should be able to find the user’s profile photo and check their stats.

To make things clear, deleting the account deletes all of the user’s driving history, pinned places, and beacon. In other words, you won’t be able to find it on the map if the account is deleted. Your profile will have disappeared.

How to delete a Life360 account

Tap Settings at the bottom right of the screen and select Account under Universal Settings. Choose Delete Account in the next window and confirm your selection by tapping “Delete my account.”

Important note

Deleting the account or app does not automatically cancel a premium subscription. To do this, you must access the application through the App Store or PlayStore and delete the subscription there. If you paid by credit card, log into your bank/credit card account, select Billing, and follow the cancellation instructions.

What happens if someone is removed from a circle?

The creator and/or administrator of the circle has privileges to remove a member. But this is not the same as when a person decides to delete the account from the application. Being removed from a circle does not affect the member’s profile, driving history, or other recorded data.

That being said, the information will not be available within that particular circle and the expelled member will receive a notification that they have been banned.

How to remove a circle member

First, you need to make sure you are logged in with administrative privileges. Then, go to Settings and navigate to Circle Management. If you are using multiple circles, tap the one that features the excess member and select “Remove Circle Members.”

Choose a member from the list, confirm your choice, and tap Save or Done for the changes to take effect. This member will be instantly removed and their location history will no longer be available.

How do I know if someone deleted the app?

Unfortunately, there is no sure way to know for sure if someone deleted the app without having access to your phone. But you will see the message “Location sharing paused” or something similar.

Although there are no notifications or messages within the Circle that someone has deleted the Life360 app, you will surely know that something is wrong. You will no longer see the person’s battery percentage, for example.

Lastly, depending on who the person in question is, you may want to check their phone. Whether you’re on an iPhone or Android device, check out the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to get the Life360 app. If it says “Install” or “Get,” the person doesn’t have it downloaded on their phone.

Is it easy to fake my location in Life360?

Android users have it much easier faking your location in Life360 than iPhone users. This is because Apple does not support the same phishing apps as the Google Play Store.

Although it can be done on both Android and iOS, it is not the easiest process.

Will anyone know that I disabled my location?

Yes. When you turn off your phone’s location in settings; Life360 will activate the “Location Sharing Paused” status. Unfortunately, this is part of the app’s algorithm and cannot be avoided.

Despite being a tracking software, Life360 gives users a lot of leeway to decide whether they want to share location information or not.
