How to make stickers for TikTok

Stickers are fashionable on all social networks. Facebook was the first to add them to the Messenger app and the trend took off. TikTok, being a hugely popular platform, of course includes stickers.

Many want to know how to customize TikTok stickers. Read on and we’ll show you how.

How to add stickers to your TikTok videos

TikTok makes it very easy to add any of the app’s built-in stickers, but it’s not as easy to add your own custom creations. If you want to add stickers that you have created, you will need to use a workaround. Luckily, we’ve researched those solutions for you!

Use a third-party app

One of the best ways to customize your TikTok video is to use a third-party app like in shot. This app allows you to add stickers, music, text, and more to your content.

You can create the video in the TikTok app and then download it, or you can film it and upload it to the InShot app, add your custom stickers, and then upload it to TikTok. They both work the same.

Here’s what you need to do for this workaround:

1. With your video prepared, open the InShot app.
   
2. Tap ‘Video’ within the app and select your video.
   
3. Select the teal checkmark button in the bottom right corner to upload your video.
   
4. Use the sliders to choose where you want to place the sticker.
   
5. At the bottom, click the label icon.
   
6. Click ‘+’ to access your phone’s memory (where your custom sticker is saved).
   
7. If your label doesn’t appear, click “Recent” at the bottom and you’ll see your phone’s picture folders. Select the one where your custom sticker is saved and select your sticker.
   
8. When you add your decal, click the ‘Save’ option in the top right corner. Choose your save destination.
   

Now that your video is saved, open TikTok and tap the ‘+’ icon at the bottom of the screen. then click ‘Upload’. Choose your video and follow the usual process to publish it.

We know this seems like a lot of work, but it’s an effective way to add your own custom stickers to a TikTok video. If this doesn’t seem like the best method for you, keep reading. We have other options.

Make stickers with Giphy

Recently, TikTok partnered with Giphy. Unfortunately, the partnership doesn’t mean everyone can create custom stickers for TikTok. Only a select number of popular TikTokers got their stickers, including Benoftheweek, Gabe, and DreaKnowbest.

This feature will surely become more accessible in the future, but for now, Giphy is selecting people who can make your custom stickers. You can use the official Giphy website to request your artist either brand channel.

You will need to log in to the Giphy website and meet their requirements. Not to discourage you, but the chances of someone getting their TikTok stickers this way are somewhat slim.

This collaboration between Giphy and TikTok is very important and looks promising. We’ll have to wait and see what happens and how many new stickers will come to TikTok.

Add stickers to TikTok using built-in options

Until the cooperation between Giphy and TikTok expands, you can always add regular TikTok stickers to your TikTok videos. Download the latest TikTok update for Android and iOS devices, because it has an important sticker update that you are going to like.

TikTok now allows you to pin your TikTok stickers to an object in your TikTok video. You just need to select where it will stay and for how long. Follow the steps to add stickers to your TikTok videos:

1. Launch the TikTok app on your phone or tablet.
   
2. Press the plus icon to start recording.
   
3. Create a TikTok video as you normally do.
   
4. Press next.
   
5. Select the Stickers option. Select one from a wide and colorful selection. You can add multiple stickers at once and easily remove them if you don’t like some (press the X next to the one you want to exclude).
   
6. You can now move your stickers to a different location in the video and resize them if you wish.
7. Tap the tag timer button if you want to change the length of its appearance in your clip.
   
8. Tap Next and finally choose Publish.
   

Make real TikTok stickers

We don’t have the solution to create your TikTok stickers in the app, as this option is not available yet. TikTok might add it in the future, who knows. Until then, there is a way to create your TikTok stickers.

There are several ways to get them, print them yourself, remove them from some products or buy them in a store. You can buy many TikToks stickers onlinebut they can be expensive.

Or you can be creative and pretend you’re in arts and crafts class. You will need packing tape, wax paper (or parchment), and scissors. Additionally, you will need to get some real printed stickers.

Below we explain how to make your TikTok stickers. Of course, before continuing with the steps, you will have to design, draw and print your personalized sticker. After:

1. Place some masking tape on parchment paper.
2. Cut out the printed sticker so that you only have the sticker, without any blank space.
3. Place the sticker on top of the tape.
4. Cut out more tape and place it over the sticker.
5. Finally, cut your homemade sticker from the parchment paper.

Add your sticker to TikTok

Unfortunately, TikTok does not allow its users to upload custom stickers. Instead, you can upload one as a photo background. Here’s how to do it.

1. Launch the TikTok app.
2. Tap the record button (plus icon) near the bottom of the screen.
3. Make a normal TikTok video.
4. Select the Effect option.
5. Choose Upload your image to change the background.
6. Select your sticker photo (prepare an image of your sticker for this step).
7. Your custom sticker will be in the background of your TikTok video. Finish editing the video and publish it when you’re done.

TikTok and custom stickers
