The fixture schedule is building up quickly for Manchester City as they attempt to defend the treble of trophies they won last season.
Pep Guardiola’s side entered the March international break just one point behind Premier League leaders Arsenal with 10 games remaining.
They also have the FA Cup semi-finals and UEFA Champions League quarter-finals this month, with Chelsea and Real Madrid hoping to derail City’s attempt to repeat the treble, something never before seen in modern European football.
That means certain league games will have to be moved around the schedule. City were due to face Champions League hopefuls Tottenham over the weekend of April 20-21, but that match was postponed.
The Jugo Mobile has the latest on a possible new date for that game and why it had to be canceled in the first place.
When is Tottenham vs Man City? Premier League match date and time
Tottenham’s home match against Man City was scheduled to take place on the weekend of April 20-21, 2024. However, the match has now been postponed due to a clash with FA Cup matches over the same two days .
The game will now take place in Tuesday May 14 with the start scheduled for 8 pm local time (3 pm ET). That’s just three days after City play Fulham and five before the Premier League season ends.
Because it was Tottenham vs. Man City postponed?
This match had to be postponed after Manchester City reached the semi-finals of the 2023/24 FA Cup.
The defending champions defeated Newcastle United 2-0 in the quarter-finals thanks to two deflected shots from Bernardo Silva. They will face Chelsea in the semi-finals at Wembley Stadium, after Mauricio Pochettino’s men have beaten Championship promotion hopefuls Leicester City.
Indeed, City beat Spurs 1-0 in north London earlier in the FA Cup, with Nathan Ake scoring the late winner. It ended a terrible run of results for Pep Guardiola and his team at Spurs.
