Not surprisingly, the 76ers begin the week as modest favorites at home. Miami has gone just 2-6 against the spread in its last eight games. However, it’s worth noting that the Heat are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against Philadelphia, while the Sixers are just 6-13-1 ATS in their last 20.
How low can you go!? We don’t see 209.5 very often anymore, but there are good reasons why BetMGM is falling into limbo. UNDER has hit in six straight games in Miami and five straight games in Philadelphia.

The Sixers have looked down the river without a paddle since Joel Embiid went down, and the fact that Tobias Harris (ankle) is considered questionable doesn’t help. Philadelphia flat out doesn’t have enough offense. They beat Charlotte 109-98 on Saturday, but a 17-win Hornets team without LaMelo Ball has the worst net rating in the NBA. With JoJo, that’s a 30-point dub.
Don’t put too much stock in the status of Jimmy Butler (foot). We don’t see the Heat losing tonight at the Wells Fargo Center with or without their best player. The Sixers still don’t have an answer for Bam Adebayo and will likely take some bumps and bruises from the always feisty Terry Rozier, as well as sharpshooter Duncan Robinson (the fastest in NBA history to 1,000 three-pointers!).
These teams may have identical records, but who will you face in a chess match between Erik Spoelstra and Nick Nurse? Miami has won four of its last five games without Butler and that includes road games with this same Sixers team (14/2), Milwaukee and Sacramento. On the season, the Heat have gone 13-7 without Emo Butler.
The “heat culture” is alive and well, and this is the part of the season where Miami starts to get hot and focused. If he bottles Maxey and doesn’t allow Kelly Oubre or Buddy Hield to get open looks, Spo will have an easy double, which Miami has been racking up on the road and against Eastern Conference opponents all season. Don’t overthink it, folks: the better, deeper team with superior coaching will win this one.

Tobias Harris Points: OVER 16.5 (-120)
If Harris fits in well, Nurse will need him to be active early and often on the offensive end of the floor. He dropped 27 against the Heat the only time he faced them this season and with Butler out or limited he should be able to get to 17 pretty easily. The real threat in Philly is Maxey, so we expect Spoelstra to put a lot of pressure on the ball, leaving Harris with some open three-point opportunities and possibly even the occasional driving lane. Bet this OVER with the same confidence we have in the Heat winning this game.
