How to download Twitter videos from a PC or desktop

There is no built-in feature that allows you to save a Twitter video to your PC. You will need to use a third-party online Twitter video downloader service. We often use circular boom to moderate Twitter accounts, such as following, unfollowing, and deleting Tweets en masse. But we can also use the website to download videos.

Here’s what you should do:

1. Open circular boom in a web browser and create an account.
   
2. When you open Circleboom, you’ll see a menu on the left. Click on the video download icon.
   
3. Click video downloader.
   
4. Paste the URL of the Twitter video you want to download into the search box.
   
5. Click on Take that video file. Then click on the Right click here button to save the video.
   
6. A new window will open and you can download the video to your device.

You just need to copy the video URL and then paste it through the website. Follow these steps to use Twitter Video Downloader to download and save a Twitter video using TinyWow.

1. Launch Twitter and log in to your account.
   
2. Find the Twitter video you want to download.
   
3. Click the “Share” option and then “Copy link to Tweet.”
   
4. Navigate to “TinyWow.com.”
   
5. Scroll down and search for “Download Twitter.”
   
6. Paste the URL into the box and click “Search Video.”
   
7. Click “Download” and choose where you want to save your file.
   
8. Finally, you will be transferred to a new tab. Click the three vertical dots and choose “Download.”
   

How to download Twitter videos from an iPhone

Twitter does not allow you to save videos from its platform. However, there are several third-party applications available, such as “My multimedia application” either “Readle Papers.” Download any of the apps and then follow these steps to save your favorite footage to your iOS device.

1. Open Twitter and find the footage you want to save.
   
2. Press the “Share” button, then press “Copy link to tweet.”
   
3. Open the third-party app you downloaded earlier.
   
4. Tap the browser icon to launch a browser within the app.
   
5. In your browser, go to the following URL: www.twittervideodownloader.com.
   
6. Paste the copied video link into the box and then press “Download”.
   
7. A new download link will be displayed. Tap “Download Video” and enter a name to save your video. The video will be saved in the app.
   
8. To save the video to your iOS device, open the app and tap “Save to Camera Roll.”
   

How to download Twitter videos from an Android device

Twitter does not allow you to download videos directly from the platform. Therefore, you will need to use a third-party application. Download Twitter Videos app is one of the best apps for this job. Here’s how to start saving your favorite Twitter videos on your Android device.

1. Log in to your Twitter account and locate the video you want to download.
   
2. Tap the “Share” button and then choose “Copy link to tweet.”
   
3. Go to Play Store to download the “Download Twitter Videos” app.
   
4. Open the app and paste the Twitter video link there.
   
5. In the lower right corner of the page, press the “Download” button.
   

The video will now download. To view the video, open the app and select it or go to the “Gallery” to view it offline.

How to download videos from a Twitter DM

There is no option to download a video received via direct message. Below are some methods you can use to save your DM videos to your computer.

Use a Chrome extension

The Video Downloader PLUS extension for Chrome is probably one of the fastest and easiest ways to save your DM videos. Follow these steps to do just that.

1. Navigate to “Google Chrome Extension”, then add “Video Downloader PLUS” extension.
   
2. Log in to Twitter and play the DM video you want to save.
   
3. At the top right, click on the Video Downloader PLUS extension.
   
4. It will show various resolution options to download the video. Select the desired file and size, then the video will be downloaded.
   

Use FFmpeg

FFmpeg is a free open source software that allows you to download videos from various platforms, not just Twitter. The process is fast, simple and compatible with Windows and macOS.

First, you will need to visit the official FFmpeg website to download and install the FFmpeg codec. You will then need to get the .m3u8 link of the video you want to save.

How to get the .m3u8 URL

1. Log in to your Twitter account and open the DM with the video in question.
   
2. Press F12 or use the hotkey “Ctrl + Shift + I” (Windows) or “Cmd + Shift + I” (Mac) to launch “Developer Tools”.
   
3. From the Developer Tools window, click the “Network” tab.
   
4. Play the DM video you want to save.
   
5. In the “Filter” text box on the “Network” tab, type “.m3u8.” You will see a list of video playlists of the .m3u8 file type.
   
6. Twitter usually has two or three versions of video with different resolutions or quality. Select the file URL and size you want.
   

Now with the .m3u8 URL copied to the clipboard, follow these steps.

1. Launch the command prompt by typing “cmd” in the search box and press “Enter.”
   
2. Paste the .m3u8 link and then press “Enter”. FFmpeg will download the video to your user’s folder.
   

Use the YouTube-DL utility

You could use YouTube-DL, which involves a command prompt and is compatible with Windows and macOS. First, get the latest version. here. Next, get a copy of your .m3u8 link by following the steps in the Getting the .m3u8 URL p above. Then, follow this step.

• Launch the command prompt and enter the following syntax:

“youtube-dl.exe <m3u8 link>“

For example:

“youtube-dl.exe https://video.twimg.com/ext_bb_video/10888877“

Your Twitter video will be downloaded to the current directory.

Use VLC media player

If you are not a fan of FFmpeg or YouTube-DL, you can use VLC Media Player to download the .m3u8 file. That is how.

1. Visit the official website of VLC Media Player to run the latest version. windows either Mac version.
   
2. From the home screen, click on the “Convert/Save” option.
   
3. Choose the “Network” tab and paste the copied .m3u8 URL of the video you want to download.

4. Then click the down arrow next to the “Convert/Save” button and choose “Convert.”
   
5. In the “Convert” window, select the “Profile” video and then click “Settings” (wrench icon) next to it.
   
6. In the “Video Codec” tab, check the “Keep original video track” box.
   
7. In the “Audio Codec” tab, check the “Keep original video track” option.
   
8. Press the “Save” button.
   
9. In the “Convert” window, verify that you are happy with the path entered in the “destination file.” Otherwise, click the “Browse” button to choose another folder to save the video to.
   
10. Click “Start.”
    

VLC will now download your Twitter video.

Permanent access to your favorite Twitter videos

Twitter users will need help from third-party services if they want to download any videos posted on the platform. Many free apps let you save Twitter videos to your devices, including Twitter Video Downloader and VLC Media Player. Some methods are easier to use than others, but in the end the job gets done. Now you can have permanent access to the videos you found the funniest or most interesting, as long as they are available in the source.
