- Open the group where you would like to try Word Effects in your Messenger app.
- Choose “Word Effects.”
- Type the phrases or words you would like to add an emoji effect to and choose an effect from the menu.
- All chat participants will be able to see the effort word you created.

Remove Word effects in Messenger
All word and phrase effects you create remain saved in your chat and never expire. In case you get bored of some and want to delete them, here’s how you can do it:
- Open the chat conversation where you saved the Word effect you want to delete.
- Tap the “Me” button.
- Open the “Menu” for “Word Effects”.
- Hold down the key on the effect and then choose “Delete.”
Use many Word effects at the same time in Messenger
You can have multiple word effects at the same time. If you want to use effects for two different phrases at the same time, for example, “Thank you” and “Take care”, simply write these phrases in a message and send it. All Word effects saved for those sentences will be animated simultaneously.
Reasons why Word effects don’t work in Messenger
